Call to Order & Introductions (Lindsey & Starr) - 6:04pm

Principal News & Updates (Dan/Tim)
- PTO would like to hang a framed sponsor poster in the lobby.
We are able to hang the sponsor poster.

- Met with the capital improvement team. Field is part of cycle maintenance. Back on track after prop money comes in.  Will not be PTO responsibility.  Plan to do irrigation and seed

Playground equipment refresh on the schedule and get remove mulch and do turf surface
Dr. Hannon asked about extending turf to the fields. Deemed a maybe. 

Next 3 summers will be full of building maintenance.
‘25 doors and locks, ‘26 Hvac, ‘27 roof

Next PTO project could be possible covered area or pavillion.

Ashleigh is moving!
We will need to fill her position (co-treasurer). If you wish to throw your name in the hat, please contact a president. We will discuss at the next meeting and hold a vote.

Budget vs Actual
Booster money being deposited.

- Mini Grants
Down to $1,900 in grants - have ‘set aside’ $600 for known requests to come

Mrs. Haeffner is asking for $137 to purchase a Flocabulary subscription.
Would be a yearly renewal, new request every year.
Hold for district approval

Mrs. Hull would like $309.99 for a carpet in her classroom.
Tentatively pass. Budget $250 for rug.

Geggie’s 60th anniversary (Elyse)
- April 26th. After the 5k in the gym. Open house style with pictures and yearbooks. Open to community, old teachers and students.

- Carrie K for balloons, spooners, and a possible bubble bus, hot dogs from Elks, italian ice from Spooners.

- Discussion about designated T-shirt to blend with the 5K.

- This could be the spring event, use our budget for this.

Junior Achievement: Biztown
- This year PTO paid $1,440 for the fifth grade students to attend the event. Next year the price is increasing significantly, with more students attending.
New cost is $20/student with well over 125 kids attending in 25/26.

- We can adjust the budget to cover the full cost.

- We could also ask parents to cover a part of the cost and we cover the rest. I.e. Ask parents to provide $5/student and we cover $15/student. IF we have kids that may need assistance, we could use our Caring Cats fund.

Increase the budget by $500 or have the families pay $5.
Increase the budget, the next few years have larger class sizes.
Discuss the permanent increase in the April meeting.

President’s Forum Meeting Review (Chris)
- Only presidents can sign contracts. This is because D&O Insurance only covers presidents.
Individual approval before every event.

- Chris Alexander in charge of calling PTO Today to ensure coverage for PTO sponsored events; chairperson for events to confirm with Chris

- Background checks
Boosterthon workers need a separate background check.
Per Dan, any volunteers in building may be required to have background checks in the near future

- Bounce house insurance

- Rockwood is the #3 districts in the state. Prop 3 funds coming through for building maintenance and chromebook roll-out.

- How can our PTO help title 1 schools? 
Vendor fair: vendors pay to advertise and those proceeds go to the Title 1 schools.

- November 13 @ 9am- next forum. Elyse, Sarah, Chris

Boosterthon Review
- Discuss pros and cons of switching platforms.
Raised $25,000

- Booster wanting to Book for next year: full- 40%, Shared- 30%, platform- 20%
Negotiate for a 10% platform fee - was stated as 10% last 2 years
If we want shared support 9/18-9/26

- Handling on our own
Membership toolkit- we would keep 95%
Reach out to the teacher forum to those PTOs that handle themselves.
Each child gets their own page
Personalize the Geggie page and the kids can personalize
Keep the same Boosterthon schedule and fun run.
Still need to budget for prizes, decorations and event needs.

No corporate matching if we opt out of Boosterthon.

Share Events 
- The Cardinals game requires that we pre-purchase tickets for the event. Then we sell the tickets to families. We do not have this in our budget, so if we move forward, we need to find funding.

Lee wants to include the whole school for the choir day at the game and open it up to non-choir families. They would be up higher than their usual spots.

Families pre-pay for their own tickets?
Not budgeted for purchase of 100+ tickets in advance

- Santa’s Magical Kingdom (11/25-11/27)
Need a volunteer or 2 to print out flyers for teacher mailboxes. Emily
PTO gets $5 for each flyer turned in


Decorate for Veterans Day on Friday, Nov. 8
- Email Kirpatrick if the paper will be put up on the wall.
- 6 People volunteered to help

Kids Craft Fair on Wednesday, Nov. 13 (Starr)
- We are sold out of tables, and then some!
20 tables in the gym and 20 tables in the cafeteria. Need to ok with custodians.

- Art leaders making signs to direct traffic if needed

- Spiritwear tables in the cafeteria with stickers, bows - cash/check only

Holiday Shop (Heather)
- December 10th, 11th, and 12th on the stage
- Give money for your kids to spend on gifts for the family

Adult Fundraiser/Trivia Night (Karen) Feb. 8th
- Registration open early December
- Karen to schedule committee meeting

Event Recap
- Trunk or Treat

Positive: Good new location, more space, most cars, additional activities, prizes and raffle

Negatives: Relying on donations for candy, trunk families being financially responsible for decorations and candy, lighting- playground very dark, date is later and doesn't allow for a rain date.

Proposal: Changing to a pay event, $5 per child. Caring cats can provide wristbands to families that can't afford them.

Discuss increasing the budget.
Is trunk or treat still our focus? Bring back the fall festival instead?
Buying or renting lighting, making the event earlier in the night.
Discuss a pre-registration next year
If we can get permission again to use the public lot, maybe we can move up the time of the event so it doesn’t end in the dark/help with lighting issues

Important Upcoming Dates (Starr & Lindsey)
- The next President’s Forum Meeting is November 13th at 9:30AM. Meeting is at Eureka Early Childhood Center.

- Next PTO meeting on Wednesday December 4th in the Geggie Library at 6PM.

- Our May meeting has been moved again, it will be 5/21 in the library. There is an art show that was just scheduled.
