Principal News & Updates (Dan/Tim)
- Geggie’s 60 year anniversary.
Beginning discussions for celebration. 
Shirts were made for the 50th anniversary. 

Treasurer Update (Karen & Ashleigh)
- Financials (August 2024)

- Open old reimbursements for $200 for last year (Clark). 

- Opened discussion on how to budget for booster next year after paying for the marquee. Treasury will be depleted.
Having Booster in September next year?

- Mini Grants
Second grade is wanting to purchase “non-permanent vertical surfaces” for student collaborations. Requested amount is $130. Math strategies to move around the room.
Karen-moved, Ashley- seconds.

Mrs. Conway is looking to purchase wave seats for her class. It is to help her class maintain concentration. She is asking for $242 for these seats.
Karen- moved. Christine- seconds.
All approve.
Motion passes.

Mrs. Hull is asking for wipe boards, erasers and storage bins for 4th grade. It’s to aid in the new math curriculum. She is requesting $600 for supplies. Also sharing with 5th grade.
Karen- moved, chris- seconds.

Mrs. Presley would like to purchase 20 copies of “The Wild Robot” ahead of the movie’s release. The copies will be raffled off with gift cards each week in hopes of reigniting a love of books. She is requesting $330.
Along with $50 gift cards to B&B Theater. Plans to raffle copies of the movie off each day with a book scavenger hunt.  School wide, all grade levels.

Ms. Hutchinson (1) - Requesting additional seating- recliner and bean bag chairs for 5th grade reading.
Elyse-motioned. Christine-seconds.

Ms. Hutchinson (2) - $120, Purchase of 12 books- each of the Mark Twain nominees; Language Arts- 100 students.
Speak with Mrs. Presley for a better price than amazon.

Upcoming Share Events
- City 2 Game 9-15-24 (Elyse Powell)
120 tickets currently sold. 7th place so far!
Reached 100 mark, 12 people will get behind the scenes tour! Geggie will get a shout out on the scoreboard.
Elyse will push for the next few weeks to up sales.

Eureka Days Parade on Sept. 28 (Sarah Favier)
Elyse-Volunteer sign up page on parent square by September 25th. 
Discussed student involvement DIY foam fingers and Geggie pennants flags. Send templates to teachers for buddy time or link on Fb groups.
Eureka has decided to stop doing the scarecrow festival. There is a movement online that businesses are continuing the tradition without the city. Discuss whether we would like to join them.

Sponsorships update (Lisa Gray) 
- Reach out to last years list of sponsors

- Donors so far: Paw and boots- silent auction, Spooners, Gelow, Scoreboard, Pope family, Dance Art, JB wellness (gold). 

- Push to: FNB bank, realtors, insurance agents.

Kindergarten Special Person’s Day on Sept. 13 (Maggie Hinds)
- Coffee and cinnamon rolls 
Coffee has been ordered. Around $60.
Cinnamon rolls ordered through district.
$360. A little over budget.

Boosterthon update (Lisa & Emily)
- 10/09 - 10/16 and 17th Fun Run
Discussed new run location. Not yet finalized.
Considering the blacktop parking lot. Concerned with falling. 
Baseball fields-Permission slips required if off campus. Approval from Eureka

- September 18th for next booster meeting
October 15th in person meeting

Trunk or Treat on Friday, Oct. 25 (Carrie Kahn)
- We need to contact sponsors and ask if they would like to add their trunks to the list

- Carrie K handed out a printed Update Sheet.
30 trunk spaces available, 5-6 staff trunks.
First 20 cars will be guaranteed a bag of candy (budget).
Teachers have non-candy items.
Dance party and games with door prizes and raffles.

- Offering sponsors a trunk spot and a bag of candy.

- October 1st- the candy monster will be put in the hall for unopened candy donations

- Ask the city to keep parking lot lights on.

- Board members help with the dance floor and scavenger hunt chaperone.

Geggie PTO is on Parent Square (Elyse Powell)
- Authorization given to send out info on parent square.
Regular Saturday morning newsletter.
Hope to increase information distribution to families other than Facebook.
Newsletter will be approved by Dan and Tim.

Parent teacher conferences - October 16-17th  (Christine)
- Baked potato and salad bar.
PTO stocked Teachers lounge for September.

RSVP by September 5th, 2024

- October - National Principals Month
Last year- A gift or meal each week. Emailed sign-up for volunteer sponsors. Not out of budget.

- November 7 - Vision Screening
Sign-ups already completed

- November 8 - Veteran’s Day 
Veteran’s banner in PTO closet. 

- November 14 - Kid’s Craft Fair

- December 10th-12th- Holiday shop.
Figure out location. On stage? Heather Bartlett as lead.
