Alternate Budget Majority Vote
Marquee goal for 2027 school year
Opinions expressed that if we go with the more conservative budget then we are sacrificing staff and student support.

25-26 PTO Calendar Proposal
- Second round of Parent Teacher Conferences will be optional next year.
- Bingo is not on the Calendar
Do we want to reinvigorate this event?
General consensus is that we don’t want to do this event next year.
- CITY SC share event options- August 24th, September 12, 28th
September 28th approved for the share event.
Negative lunch balances are extreme this year
- Settle negative lunch balance from money allocated to Caring Cats that was not used.
Presidents Forum Review
- Forum is asking for 1-2% of budget for district ballot initiative (not mandatory, but appreciated)
$1,200 originally budgeted but changing to $200. That is what we allocated for the Prop campaign.
- Boards need to be sending a representative to the monthly meetings.
- Forum is going to provide what the meetings will be about beforehand. But, they feel that not all schools are participating.
- They have heard on both sides that meetings during the day don’t work because of parents with jobs, and evenings don’t work because parents are busy with family responsibilities.
- First Presidents forum meeting in September is a mandatory meeting
- New volunteers need to re-do the intent to volunteer form every year
Discussed problems other school’s parents are having with the background checks. Issues with parents that may face immigration and cost restraints.
We could use the Caring Cats budget to pay for fingerprinting.
It is up to the Volunteer coordinator (VP) to check if background checks are approved for EVERY event.
June 1st is when the new kindergarten parents can start getting fingerprinted.
- Vendor book will be sent out to PTOs- a directory of vendor to use for PTO events or products
