Call to Order (Christine/Kati) - 6:00pm

Prop S (Dr. Cain) Vote on November 4th

• Discussed Rockwood excellence and Prop S information.
• Prop S could help recruit and maintain quality staff, and increase health benefits. Rockwood’s pay and benefits have fallen behind compared to other districts in St. Louis and Missouri.
• Discussed what the Rockwood district offers in terms of metal work and tech opportunities.
• Rockwood has excellent fiscal responsibility. We hold AAA ratings in Standards and Poor’s. We have continually earned a cleaned audit. Rockwood has one of the lowest tax rate in the St louis county, lowest it has been in over 30 years
• 1994 is the last time Rockwood asked for a levy increase for salaries and operating costs.
• Nov 2023 Prop P passed and 100% of the money was used for school improvements.
• The cost to educate students has increased where the state mandated funds have not.
• IF Prop S passed, it is estimated that 27 million will be generated with a levy increase of $.45/ $100 of assessed value.
  • $26/month increase for a house valued at $400,000
  • Senior tax freeze opportunities for 2026
• Meetings Oct 7th, 14th, 21st at 6pm with superintendent. Daytime meetings are also available.

Principal News & Updates (Dan/Tim)

• Principals on the roof- a lot of families stopped by to see them on the roof! Played games and the guys received a lot of treats and drinks! Families driving by until past 8:30!

Treasurer Update (Karen/Chris)

• Financials (August 2025)
• Beginning of month, not complete
• Mini Grants
  • Haeffner- student teachers for 4th grade safety patrol
    • $150.00 for T-shirts 
    • Katie motions, karen seconds- APPROVED
  • Via Executive board e-mail: Benoist- 2025-2026 Student Council shirts
    • To be worn all year and to multiple events, meetings, and while visiting classrooms. Approved last year.
    • 26 students/ 5 teachers from Local T’s
    • APPROVED $357.00 Student Council shirts. The majority voted to approve via Executive board e-mail.

• Karen motions, Starr seconds- none opposed, motion passes

Tiger Fun Run (Lisa/Emily)

• WE HIT OUR GOAL!
  • Paid donations: $38,817.68. (2024- $41,655.50, 2023- $45,986.40)
  • Profit: $37,127.93. 
• Expenses:
  • $1,062.24. Stickers, bracelets, keychain, poster supplies, yard signs, incentive prizes, bubble machine and solution.
• $5,822.65 platform fees ($1,689.93 covered)
• 59% of Students Registered, 50% donated
• Top 3 registered teachers, and PE staff received coffee and donuts 
• Suggestions for 2026: 
  • Make registration and kick-off on the same day
  • Hype team t-shirts
  • Have more levels if goal is surpassed
  • More activity days, more trinkets
  • Double up grades for running? 
  • 40 min. Max. An hour was long
  • Incorporate STUCO in hype team
     
• Sponsorship update 
  • $5,100 raised through local sponsors
  • Sponsors get a ‘thank you’ that is in a frame- come from operational budget
  • Add a budget for sponsorships going forward
     
• Survey feedback (Families/Staff)
  • Positive feedback- people liked the new course in the city parking lot. The run was more fun, easy, and smooth. 
  • No more shirt marking for laps! Needed less grade level volunteers!

Eureka Days Parade (Sarah)

• Katie, Emily, Christine and Sarah have been working hard on the float
• 28 out of 30 teacher contributed classroom shields for float decorations

Trunk or Treat (Kati/Starr)

• 17 cars registered so far (36 car limit), 2 staff trunks, First 10 trunks get candy
• Via Text (Chris)- tying in the food drive into the Trunk or Treat. People can bring in food and “Feed Frankie”

Geggie’s Got Talent (Starr)

• How to book a rockwood facility for an event:
• FMX- facility usage schedule request
• rsdmo.org- FMX calendar> new request> PTO event> fill in the appropriate boxes.
• David- PA system equipment rentals

PTO Website (Elyse)

• Taking off full-access to the school directory on the website.

Misc. Business (Christine/Kati)

• Recap: JA Biztown, Kindergarten Special Person’s Day
   
• CITY2 Soccer Game Fundraiser- 84 tickets sold, student got to announce
   
• Taste of the World- Geggie is the only school without a lead.
  • Maggie volunteered to be the lead. Courtney and Chris will support
  • Shout out on facebook to look for help outside executive board
     
• Geggie Chorus singing the National Anthem at a Cardinals game 
  • Need to sell 350 tickets, 72 kids in choir
  • Game night in April or May
  • Discuss if we have to pay upfront or parents can pay individual
  • PTO responsible for passing out tickets to non-chorus families
  • Schaefferkoetter is looking for help to promote and support the distribution
     
• Parent Pickup Helper 
  • 3:20-3:40pm they are asking for help because it's usually during plan time.
  • Dan to clarify with teachers about the need
     
• PTO Presidents’ Forum- Wednesday, 10/22 from 9:30 a.m - 11:30 a.m. RSD Annex
  • Christine and Karen to attend
     
• Next Meeting: Wednesday, 11/5 from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m.
   
• Author Alan Grant will be at Geggie- asking for a parent helper from 1:45-3pm. Mrs. Presley will be out of the school for a Librarian conference.
